Game Overview

You are an ocean conservationist protecting Malaysia’s ocean. Each turn, play a species into your ocean to build and sustain the healthy ecosystem. Species earn points from nearby creatures while helping others score, through a food web chaining. The conservationist with the most points wins!

Component and Concepts

40 species cards.
Species cards will be played into the ocean from hand.
There are 8 types of species, including:

–
Plant (7 cards)
–   Coral (7 cards)
–   Tiny Species (3 cards)
–   Invertebrate (4 cards),
–   Small Marine Life (5 cards)
–   Medium Marine Life (5 cards)
–   Large Marine Life (6 cards)
–   Marine Carnivore (3 cards).

The scoring conditions of species are based on their dietary habits.

For example, clownfish is an omnivore, hence it consumes plants and tiny species.

Game Play

All players take their turns simultaneously. Each turn, every player:

  2. All players reveals their selected card together, then place it in front of them, forming their own ocean. (From the second round onward, each new card must be placed adjacent to one or more cards already in played on the player’s own ocean. There is no limitation for the formation of the placement (ocean).)
  3. Passes the remaining cards to the next player and receives cards from the previous player.

Repeat these steps until each player has played 9 cards. The final unplayed card is discarded.
